Mantra, Mangala fame Osho Tulasiram directs Dakshina, which also stars Rishabh Basu, Subhash, Anand Bharti

After making her Telugu debut with the rural comedy Shikaaru, Sai Dhanshika is all set for her next release in the industry - an action thriller titled Dakshina. The project marks the comeback of director Osho Tulasiram, best known for helming films like Mantra and Mangala, headlined by Charmme Kaur. Dakshina is bankrolled by Ashok Shinde under Cult Concepts. A new glimpse of the film was launched recently.
The glimpse begins with a voice over where Visakhapatnam residents fear a psychopath, who keeps finding cruel ways to kill people. Sai Dhanshika, sporting short hair, is introduced in a mean avatar, has a strong motive behind all the murders she commits. From her blood-soaked costumes to weapons to cigars to her different looks, the director tries to showcase a newer, unexplored side to Dhanshika.
‘Are you a human or a psycho,’ a man shouts as Dhanshika mercilessly keeps killing people. The release date of the film hasn’t been announced yet. The shoot of Dakshina was wrapped up recently and the makers are looking to finish post-production formalities and release the film at the earliest. Dakshina promises to be emotional, thrilling and a feast for action junkies.
Ashok Shinde, the film's producer opines Dakshina has an emotional plot centred on a psycho-thriller. Sai Dhansika is cast as an IPS officer, and the makers share she has done a fine job in a meaty role. “Expect her to gain more fame after Dakshina’s release,” the producer exudes optimism. Other details surrounding the teaser, trailer and promotional campaign will be finalised soon.
Dakshina has been shot across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Goa in scenic locales. Narsingh is the cinematographer for the film and Balaji is the music director. Rishabh Basu, Subhash, Anand Bharti are also part of the cast.
