Love Mocktail 3, the third instalment in actor-director Darling Krishna’s franchise is gearing up for release. The film, according to the industry buzz, will release on Friday the 13th of February, in time for Valentine’s Day, as has been the practice with the earlier movies too. Love Mocktail released on January 31, 2020 and Love Mocktail 2 on February 11, 2022 and both films had done well in theatres. Krishna and now wife Milana Nagaraj, who’ve also produced all the films will be looking at a repeat of sorts, even though, the Love Mocktail 3 announcement did not receive the welcome they were hoping for from audiences.
What's the Love Mocktail franchise about?
Krishna, who turned director with 2020’s Love Mocktail to resurrect his flailing career, made a third part, even though netizens failed to see point in yet another edition. In the first film, he’d presented his character Aadhi’s journey from high school to college and then his professional life and his three love stories along the way, with the last one being his soulmate. The film was a tragedy though, with Milana’s character, Nidhima, succumbing to cancer.

Love Mocktail 2 was about Aadhi not dealing with his grief. Unwilling to accept Nidhima’s absence in his life, he remains unable to move on in life despite the prospect of new love. Severely depressed, he skips medication and begins hallucinating Nidhima all the time, until he finally stumbles upon a little girl in an orphanage and realizes that she is his future and adopts her. Krishna had devoted the first half of the film to a recap of the original, with the story actually kicking off only in the second half.
Love Mocktail 3 will likely be about Aadhi as a single parent and his bond with young Nidhi. This chapter is expected to end the franchise. The core team of Love Mocktail is part of the third instalment, while newer characters will also be introduced. Krishna was last seen in his newest collaboration with director Shashank, called Brat, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. His upcoming projects include a film with Prakash Raj called Father.
