Idre Nemdiyaag Irbeku, the first song from Challenging Star Darshan’s next, The Devil, was meant to be out on August 15, 2025 and fans were eagerly looking forward to it, as the makers had also teased that the film’s theatrical release date would be announced shortly. The hope was that the release date would be revealed along with the song. But then, the Supreme Court verdict on Darshan’s bail came and upset the applecart. The actor’s bail was cancelled on August 14, with an immediate arrest ordered. With less than a day to go for the song launch, Darshan was back in jail, forcing the makers to put the brakes on their plans.

As of now, the song launch remains indefinitely postponed, and the film is also likely to face the same fate, depending on the outcome of the Renukaswamy murder case. According to reports citing legal experts, Darshan is not eligible to apply for bail again until the completion of the trial court proceedings in the case, a timeline for which is not available yet. In the last few weeks, there was speculation that The Devil would be in theatres before the end of the year, which now looks doubtful.
