Pennum Porattum: Darshana Rajendran, Roshan Mathew review Rajesh Madhavan's film at IFFK 2025 - 'Happy tears after watching'

Pennum Porattum is a Malayalam film, which marks the directorial debut of actor Rajesh Madhavan. The movie premiered at the ongoing 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram. Actor Rajesh Madhavan's maiden directorial Pennum Porattum is winning praise after its debut at the prestigious IFFK. His co-actors and frequent collaborators, Darshana Rajendran and Roshan Mathew, also have only good words about the film. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Darshana wrote, “Happy tears after watching my muth Rajesh Madhavan's Pennum Porattum at IFFK." Darshana was recently honoured with Special Jury mention at the Kerala State Film Award for his performance in Paradise.

Her Paradise co-actor Roshan Mathew too had high praise for the film, saying “Post magic bliss after #PePo. This film is so entertaining and powerful and unique! I am in awe of the team.”

Rajesh Madhavan has also acted in Pennum Porattum, along with Raina Radhakrishnan. The film focuses on the village of Pattada where chaos unfolds after a brief exchange between Charulatha and Kumar triggers bigger ramifications. Pennum Porattum has just had its IFFK premiere, and there has not been an official announcement on when the film would be released in theatres for the general public. Rajesh Madhavan was last seen in Dheeran, playing the titular character. Prior to that, he was also seen in a brief scene in Ronth, which starred Roshan Mathew and Dileesh Pothan as two cops.

On the other hand, Roshan will be next seen in the film Chatha Pacha, which is much-awaited as it brings a WWE-inspired tale from Kochi. Arjun Ashokan plays the other lead role in the film, which is set for a January 2026 release. Roshan’s last film Ithiri Neram with Zarin Shihab will make its OTT debut on Sun Nxt and OTTplay Premium on Christmas.
