Dhruv Vikram’s third project, or DV03, is going to be helmed by Maamannan-fame director Mari Selvaraj. The film, which is yet to make an official announcement, has reportedly roped in a popular actress from Mollywood. According to the latest reports, Hridayam actress Darshana Rajendran is all set to star alongside Dhruv Vikram in the upcoming sports biopic. Although an official confirmation is awaited, the latest grapevine also suggests that Premam star Anupama Parameswaran is the other actress who is rumoured to be in the running to play the lead.
The latest speculations have definitely increased the hype around the Dhruv Vikram-starrer among fans, who have been waiting to see the young talent on the big screens after his last hit film Mahaan.
Leading actresses
Both Darshana and Anupama have previously worked in Tamil projects and their performances are well-received among Tamil cinephiles. Anupama Parameswaran's last Tamil project Siren, alongside Jayam Ravi, hit the big screens this February 2024. On the other hand, Darshana is already shooting for her upcoming Tamil film which is an adaptation of novelist Perumal Murugan's story.
DV03 - All about Dhruv Vikram-Mari Selvaraj’s sports biopic
Helmed by acclaimed writer-director Mari Selvaraj, the upcoming film is billed as a sports biopic of former Tamil Nadu Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan, who is a recipient of Arjuna Award. Actor Dhruv Vikram will be seen essaying the role of the Kabbadi professional and has reportedly been undergoing intense training to get into the shoes of the Kabbadi player. He will be seen in a much more lean physique to ace the character. The film is produced by Pa Ranjith, under his home banner Neelam Productions. Interestingly, Manathi Ganesan is a close relative of Mari Selvaraj, and the director had earlier revealed that he wanted to make a feature film about his achievements.
DV03 shoot details
As reported earlier, the makers of the film are eyeing to kick-start shooting for the film from March 15. The earlier reports suggest that the team is planning to begin its shoot in Thoothukudi and other rural areas. Sources reveal that the shooting for the film has been scheduled for 70 to 80 days, with cinematographer Ezhil Arasu brought onboard. Popular composer Santhosh Narayanan has been reportedly roped in to score the music for the sports biopic.
