While biggies like Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Veerayya were in the news for celebrating their 200-day run in theatres recently, team Dasara too came together for the 100-day celebrations of the rural drama. Nani, Keerthy Suresh, Dheekshith Shetty played the lead roles in the actioner written and directed by Srikanth Odela. Sudhakar Cherukuri of SLV Movies bankrolled the film.
Dasara released amidst high expectations on March 30 and turned out to be the highest earner in Nani’s career. The cast and crew including Nani, Dheekshith Shetty, Sai Kumar, Srikanth Odela, Sudhakar Cherukuri, producers Anil Sunkara, Sithara Creations fame S Naga Vamsi, Gopi Achanta, Sahu Garapati, and CV Mohan attended the high-profile event where shields were presented to the team.
The drama hit screens across 5 languages and was Nani’s third multilingual after films like Shyam Singha Roy and Ante Sundaraniki. Santhosh Narayanan scored the music for the film that also starred Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Shine Tom Chacko, Jhansi, Purnaa and others. Chamkeela Angeelesi, Dhoom Dhaam Dostaan were among the most popular songs of the hit album.
Nearly a month after its theatrical run, Dasara premiered on the leading OTT platform Netflix in all five languages and was widely watched by audiences across the globe. The story, unfolding in the post-prohibition era of the 1990s, is ultimately a romance triangle revolving around three childhood friends Suri, Dharani, Vennela and deals with the twists and turns in their equation.
Sathyan Sooryan cranked the camera for the film edited by Navin Nooli. Real Satish, Anbariv designed the action sequences. Jella Srinath, Arjuna Paturi, Vamsi Krishna P co-wrote the story while Thota Srinivas is the dialogue writer. Prem Rakshith, Eshwar Penti are the choreographers. Nani is now working on a father-daughter drama titled Hi Nanna that releases in December.
