Friends: The Reunion episode, which aired on May 27, is still being talked about by fans across the world for giving them one more chance to relive their favourite show. But it wasn’t just the millions of fans that were smiling, all six cast members of the hit sitcom were also laughing all the way to the bank.

The reunion episode, which had garnered 1 million views on ZEE5 in just seven hours, had earned each of its cast – Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc – a massive paycheck between $2.5 million to $3 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s a huge leap considering that when the show first aired, each of them were paid $22,500, which increased to $100,000 on the third season and $175,000 on the sixth, before the big jump to $750,000 on the seventh. By the penultimate season, they took home $1 million each per episode. It was the highest ever salary drawn for actors of a TV series 17 years ago.

Talking about landmark figures, according to The Independent, Jennifer leads the group with a net worth of $300m, followed by Courteney’s $150 million and Perry ’s $120 million. With the paycheck for the reunion special episode, David breached the $100 million barrier while Lisa follows with $90 million. LeBlanc, who has been the busiest after Friends concluded, comes last with $80 million.

The cast also receives 2% of the revenue that Warner Bros makes from reruns and streaming rights. This would come to an approximate annual income of $20 million each, according to The Independent.
