Debraj Bhattacharya in Eken Babu Season 7? | Exclusive

Debraj Bhattacharya impressed the audience with his performance in Anirban Bhattacharya’s Ballabhpurer Roopkotha. Meanwhile, OTTplay has reported that he will be seen as Manilal in Srijit Mukherji’s Durgo Rawhoshyo on Hoichoi. Anirban Bhattacharya plays Byomkesh Bakshi with Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee as Ajit and Sohini Sarkar, Satyabati in Hoichoi’s web series which is part of Hoichoi’s Best of Bengal section. Meanwhile, Debraj’s other web series, The Nandini Murders, will be dropped on August 18 on Platform 8. Now, he may also be seen in the next season of the Eken Babu web series.

While talking to OTTplay, the actor said that he got a call from the platform for the show. “They told me about the project and asked if I was ok to work on it. When I agreed they asked if I was available during their possible shooting period in September. I said yes. I was told that I would get a call from the directorial team,” the actor told us. 

Meanwhile, the director of the show Joydeep Mukherjee said, “Yes, there is a possibility that Debraj will be a part of the series. His name is there. However, there has not been any confirmation yet and that will come after August 21.” Eken Babu is portrayed by Anirban Chakrabarti in both films and web series. Besides, Suhotro Mukhopadhyay and Somak Ghosh play his assistant, Bapi and Promotho, respectively.

In Ballabhpurer Roopkotha, Debraj – a seasoned theatre actor – plays the character of protagonist Bhupati’s (Satyam Bhattacharya) friend, Sanjib. Along with Satyam’s, his work has been lauded by viewers and critics alike. 

Meanwhile, the actor continues his theatre work with film and web series commitments. “While I am not starting any new theatre work, I act in Debasish Roy’s Bhalobasha Kare Koye? and Naihati Bratyajan’s Dadar Kirti,” the actor informed.
