Deepika Padukone reacts to Hollywood Walk of Fame star; Becomes first Indian actress to receive the honour

Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly one of the most successful actresses in the Hindi film industry. She has done several hit movies in her remarkable career. The actress, who embraced motherhood for the first time in 2024, is all set to receive a huge honour as she has been chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2026.

Deepika Padukone is going to be one of the recipients of the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2026. Deepika's name was announced at a live press conference at Ovation Hollywood, along with other notable figures from the worlds of recording, film, television, live theater/live performance, and sports entertainment.

Deepika Padukone becomes first Indian actress to receive the honour

Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian actress to receive a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. For the unversed, the stars, first permanently installed in 1960, commemorate achievements in the entertainment industry, holding the names of a mixture of actors, musicians, producers, directors, theater/music groups, athletes, fictional characters, and others.

Reacting to the news, Deepika wrote on her Instagram Story, "Gratitude." 

Apart from Padukone, Miley Cyrus, Timothee Chalamet, Hollywood actress Emily Blunt, French actress Cotillard, Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, Italian actor Franco Nero, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will also be honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

The selections were made by the Chamber's board of directors on June 25. "We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026," Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, said in a statement.

Deepika Padukone's work front

Deepika Padukone will be seen in King alongside Shah Rukh Khan. As per reports, she will play the role of Suhana Khan's mother. Although her role is not full-fledged, it is described as being deeply woven into the story and holding an important emotional and dramatic core. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Abhay Verma, and others.

Meanwhile, as per reports, Deepika opted out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, co-starring Prabhas, and one of the reasons was her demand to work 6 hours as she is a new mother.
