Tanjiro’s ultimate showdown arrives! Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle gets India release date

Today, Crunchyroll revealed the theatrical dates for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle in India and around the world. Exclusively in India, on September 12, 2025, in IMAX and other premium large formats, will arrive the first installment of the epic trilogy created by the illustrious animation studio ufotable. Subtitled in English and Hindi, the film will also be accessible in Japanese with English subtitles.

Premise of Demon Slayer

A demon murders Tanjiro Kamado's family at the beginning of the plot. To restore his sister Nezuko's human form after her transformation into a demon, he enlists in the Demon Slayer Corps. With its heartbreaking story of humanity and demons, exciting sword battles, lovable characters, and hilarious moments, the series has enchanted viewers all around the globe.

The three-part film is the climax and last act of the immensely successful and critically acclaimed anime shonen series. With the exception of certain Asian areas, including Japan, the film will be distributed globally by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Tanjiro’s journey so far

Following the transformation of his sister Nezuko into a demon, Tanjiro Kamado enlisted in the Demon Slayer Corps, an outfit devoted to the hunt for demons. Along with his buddies Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira, Tanjiro has overcome numerous obstacles and grown stronger as a member of the corps. He has encountered the Hashira, the highest-ranking swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, on his travels. Among them are Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku on the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in the Entertainment District, Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji in the Swordsmith Village.

Muzan Kibutsuji showed up to the Ubuyashiki Mansion while the Demon Slayer Corps and Hashira were preparing for their impending war against the demons through a group strength training program called the Hashira Training. Tanjiro and the Hashira make a beeline for the headquarters in fear for the Demon Corps commander, but they are unexpectedly thrown into a dark and unknown dimension by Muzan Kibutsuji.

Final showdown in Infinity Castle

The demons' stronghold, Infinity Castle, is where Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps have fallen. The stage prepares for the final confrontation between the demons and the Demon Slayer Corps.
