It was revealed a while ago that Demonte Colony 2 will be made with Arulnithi playing the lead in it. Ajay Gnanamuthu, who directed the prequel in 2015, was said to be penning the story for the sequel, and his assistant was roped in to helm the project.

However, he made it clear recently that he will be wielding the megaphone for the movie and that its shooting kicked off in Chennai. Later, Priya Bhavani Shankar was brought on board to essay the female lead role in the film. The makers have now unveiled an intriguing video, announcing cast and crew details of the project.

For the last few days, Twitter has been abuzz with a cryptic poster which came along with the caption ‘Darkness Will Rule’. Netizens and moviegoers have been wondering about the movie for which the promotions have been happening. The announcement video mentions that a bevy of actors will be seen playing notable characters in the much-awaited sequel.

Tsering Dorjee, Arun Pandian, Muthukumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan and Sarjano Khalid essay prominent roles while Sam CS has been roped in to compose music. Harish Kannan and Deepak D Menon are in charge of cinematography. Ganesh and Kumaresh D are handling action scenes and editing respectively.

According to makers, the team has wrapped up around 40 percent of the shooting. Cinephiles are wondering what Ajay and team are coming up with this time to engage them. 

The director's Gnanamuthu Pattarai and Vijay Subramanian's White Nights Entertainment are jointly bankrolling the film. The movie marks the second outing of Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar after Kalathil Sandhippom.
