Demonte Colony 3: Ajay Gnanamuthu begins working on third part of his horror thriller franchise; Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar to return

Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, known for creating horror thriller film franchise Demonte Colony in Tamil, has begun the works for third part. The director took to social media to announce the same. Demonte Colony 3 begins: Ajay Gnanamuthu gives update

Following the success of the 2015 Tamil horror thriller film Demonte Colony, director Ajay Gnanamuthu released the second part Demonte Colony II: Vengeance of the Unholy in 2024. Now, the director has given an update about the third part, which is already in works. Posting a picture with his team from a foreign locale, Ajay Gnanamuthu has confirmed the third part.

The director also tagged actors Arulnithi, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Meenakshi Govindharajan and Muthukumar, confirming their presence as the cast members. Sam CS will be scoring the music for the threequel.

While horror films are sparsely being made in Tamil cinema, earlier speaking with OTTplay, Ajay Gnanamuthu had confirmed that the film franchise will have four parts. He had also said that the characters from the previous films will be making a comeback. "Unlike The Conjuring where each part has a different plot, here the characters are the same. More so like Harry Potter series where the world keeps changing. There will be only one conflict, with their journeys changing."

While a release date for Demonte Colony 3 is yet to be unveiled, you can stream both the parts on OTTplay Premium. Ajay Gnanamuthu has helmed both the parts, with Arulnithi playing the lead role.

The first part revolves around four friends who enter a cursed mansion in Demonte Colony area and retrieve a cursed necklace, creating havoc in their lives. The sequel follows the ill fates of Debbie (and Raghunanthan crossing paths, as they have to face the cursed spirits of Demonte Colony.
