Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast, which was released across the world in multiple languages yesterday, opened to mixed reviews from critics and the audience. The film was released in more than 900 theatres in Tamil Nadu and has grossed more than 30 crores at the box office from the state.

The action flick has become the highest grossing Tamil film of 2022 in many territories. The film, which released in a huge number of theatres in the US, is said to have collected around 6 crores. The numbers Beast earned from its premiere shows were only next to Rajinikanth's Kabali.

Australia, New Zealand and Singapore are a few other countries where the movie has garnered good numbers on day one. The Vijay-starrer managed to emerge as the numero uno Tamil movie in Karnataka on day one surpassing Kabali and 2.0. It is also now the second highest grossing movie on day one in Kerala after Mohanlal's Odiyan.

The figures from the Telugu states are awaited. The film opened to mixed response among Tollywood audiences as well. The combined theatrical rights of the film was sold for 10 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

With KGF 2 garnering positive reviews everywhere, film lovers and the trade are looking forward to the numbers Beast can make in the five-day weekend. One major positive factor of the movie is the performance of Vijay; his towering screen presence and action scenes save the film to a good extent.

Fans of the star and others hope that it is enough to attract the target audience in the coming days. The magnitude of threat from KGF 2 will be known at the box office only in the coming days.
