Sixteen years after making a splash on the big screen with the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Dev Patel has put on the director’s hat with Monkey Man. The high-octane trailer for the movie was released in January and immediately took the internet by storm. Within no time, Monkey Man has become one of the most anticipated films of the year. And it looks like it may be released in India on April 19, which is just a week away.

Monkey Man is one Hollywood film that has been getting immense attention in India because it focuses on Indian tradition and culture. The trailer is all filled with violence and we get to see Dev's character in the midst of a chase. The cinematography is mind-blowing and every move is fueled by a mixture of desperation and peculiar motives.

Monkey Man was released in the US on March 11. Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the makers are eyeing April 19 as the date for the film’s India release. The action-thriller also marks the Hollywood debuts of actors Sikander Kher and Sobhita Dhulipala.

Monkey Man tells a story about a man, who just got released from jail, and is all ready to fight for his existence. But the outside world is absolutely messed up. Big companies are greedy and not nice anymore, and people don't care about what's right or what's wrong, and keep on doing their own things, no matter what. This man now wants to take revenge from the people who ruined his life years ago, and he's not leaving a single chance to get all raw and barbaric.
