Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is surely one composer who has been celebrated by generations together equally. While the composer is undoubtedly one of the most talented composers in Indian cinema, the latest to have a fan-boy moment was composer and singer Devi Sri Prasad. The Pushpa-composer recently met Ilaiyaraaja and penned a heartfelt note, as he called meeting the latter his "lifetime dream" coming true moment.

DSP meets Ilaiyaraaja

Ilaiyaraaja met Devi Sri Prasad at the latter's studio and gave him his blessings. DSP penned a heartfelt note on the same and wrote, "As a little kid, even before I knew what music was all about, this maestro Ilaignani Ilayaraja sir's music cast a magical spell on me. I grew up with his music always around me, even when I was studying for my exams. So inseparable I was, I am and I will be from his music." DSP also mentioned how once he built his studio, he installed a photo frame of Ilaiyaraaja and dreamt of taking a picture of it along with him on the side, DSP also posted a picture of himself along with Ilaiyaraaja and latter photo as the duo is seen smiling. DSP also thanked Ilaiyaraaja for his blessings and every filmmaker, actor and music labels he has worked with so far. It is to be noted that after he won the National Film Award for Pushpa, the musician took Ilaiyaraaja's blessings.  

What’s ahead of for DSP?

Devi Sri Prasad who won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction – Songs for his work in Pushpa, predominantly works in Tamil and Telugu film industries. The filmmaker is currently working on the sequel of Pushpa, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The composer also has two Tamil projects in the pipeline, Kanguva starring Suriya in the lead role and Rathnam starring Vishal under Hari's directorial. A release date for both the films are yet to be announced by the makers. Meanwhile, in Telugu, the composer has Thandel starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, and Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
