Dhaakad: Arjun Rampal says his character in Kangana Ranaut starrer film is ‘lethal’, ‘vicious’ and has a ‘dark heart’

Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad promises to be a spy thriller with a roller coaster ride of action. While Ranaut stars as fiery protagonist Agent Agni, Arjun Rampal takes on the mantle of antagonist Rudraveer. The actor recently opened up about his ‘evil’ character.

In conversation with ETimes, Rampal described his character as ‘vicious’ and said that Rudraveer’s mission came from the experiences of his past, where everything in his life was taken away. Protective and ‘anti-system’, the character is able to garner a lot of loyalty among his own people. “Somewhere, his heart is dark, but he doesn’t think he is doing anything wrong because this is the world he has created”, said Rampal.

The actor also talked about how playing the character felt ‘lethal’ and ‘scary’ and took him to a different mind space. He talked about how important it was for him to ‘feel’ the character he played, and how he did not want to portray the role in a ‘superficial’ way. Rampal said that he tried to get in touch with the character’s emotions and mind frame, and doing so had an impact on him and scared him as an actor to realise how evil Rudraveer is. But the actor said that he was ‘glad’ to be scared like that, because it was a sign that Rampal’s mind could never tread like his character’s did. The actor also recalled an intense scene where his character hacks someone in fury.
