A few days ago, the big news in industry circles was that Natarakshasa Daali Dhananjaya was preparing to step into politics. The actor was set to be getting ready to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Mysuru constituency on a seat from the ruling party in the state. Dhananjaya was, supposedly, the big competition for sitting MP Pratap Simha.
Dhananjaya, who was in Mysuru this week, to join actor Prakash Raj and filmmaker Pawan Kumar for the trailer launch of Utsav Gonwar’s Photo, took time out to clarify his stance on a career in politics. Turns out, Dhananjaya has no such plans as of now. He’s very happy being in cinema, a field that he says he still ha a lot to achieve in.
“No matter what you do you in life, you have to give your 100% to it, whether it is films, politics, agriculture, etc. I have a lot more to achieve in cinema, so my focus is going to be on making quality films,” said the actor, adding that it is not necessary for anyone to be actively involved politics to work towards the betterment of society. “I have and will continue to do my bit for the good of my neighbourhood and hope that younger generations grow up with the mindset to be useful to society and serve for the greater good,” he added.
Meanwhile, the actor, who was last seen in THothapuri 2, which was not only a washout at the box office, but is yet to find a streaming partner as well, has an exciting array of films lined up. Up next, he has former Colors TV Business Head Parameshwar Gundkal’s directorial debut, Koti, as well as a Telugu film called Zebra with Satyadev. He is also working on the two-part Uttarakaanda, which reunites him with the makers of Rathnan Prapancha, including director Rohit padaki and production house, KRG Studios.
A gangster flick set in north Karnataka, Uttarakaanda will mark the return of Sandalwood Queen Ramya in cinema. Dhananjaya will also star in Shankar Guru’s next after Badava Rascal, a film called Anna From Mexico.
