Polladhavan is one of the most acclaimed films of Tamil cinema, and needs no introduction. The movie marked the debut of acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran. The Dhanush-starrer was released 15 years ago, and some of the crew members had a get-together yesterday on the occasion.

Actress-politician Divya Spandana, who played the female lead in the project, took to Twitter to post a few pics from the event featuring herself, Dhanush, Vetri, music director GV Prakash and producer Kathiresan among others. She was all praise for Dhanush, her "longest standing friend" and thanked Vetri for training her.

Divya also heaped praise on GV Prakash's music in the film and said that she is looking forward to Polladhavan 2. This left many surprised and movie buffs wondering if makers are actually considering a sequel to the movie. An excited Dhanush, too, took to social media to express happiness on the get-together.

He posted, "Loved catching up with polladhavan team and some of my best friends. A film that defined so many things for me. Balumahendra sir .. thank you (sic)." Fans of Dhanush and Vetri Maaran, who are waiting for Vada Chennai 2, are now elated and are eager to know if they have another surprise in store.

Polladhavan was released along with Vijay's Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Suriya's Vel, the two most-anticipated films for Deepavali in 2007, but emerged as the winner among critics. Velraj's visuals and VT Vijayan's editing garnered unanimous appreciation from film lovers.

The film marked the first collaboration between Dhanush and Vetri Maaran who went on to become one of the most successful combinations in Tamil cinema. The duo then made Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran in 2011, 2018 and 2019 respectively.
