DOP Om Prakash is making his directorial debut and the latest buzz suggests that Dhanush has been roped in to play the lead

Cinematographer Om Prakash is all set to make his directorial debut. The cinematographer, who has worked in several superhit projects in Tamil cinema, is gearing up to step into the role of a director for his next film. Although an official announcement about the project is yet to be made, the latest reports suggest that actor Dhanush has been roped in to play the lead role in the upcoming film.
The film is reportedly produced by the actor’s home production company Wunderbar Films and has the story written by Dhanush himself. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
Director of photography Om Prakash is a popular face in Tamil cinema. He began his cinema journey as a cinematographer in the Tamil film Nila Kannadi (2007). He then went on to crank the camera for several successful films such as Kalavani, Naanayam, Anegan, Maari, Neethaane En Ponvasantham and so on. He has frequently collaborated with Dhanush in his films such as Maari, Maari 2, Anegan, Thiruchitrambalam, Naane Varuvean and the film, Raayan, which is yet to be released. The new film will mark the actor-cinematographer’s yet another collaboration, which fans are looking forward to watching.

With the new film added to Dhanush’s already long list of projects, it seems like the actor is on a spree to bag all the roles. The Captain Miller star has several projects in his kitty including his directorials Raayan and Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. The former is billed as a gangster drama with Dhanush playing the central character; while the latter is a new-age romantic drama, starring Priya Prakash Varrier, Mathew Thomas, Anikha Surendran, V S Prince Ratan among others in lead characters.
On the acting front, the actor will be seen essaying an intriguing role as a homeless man in Sekhar Kammula’s bilingual film Kubera. The Asuran actor will also be seen as Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja in his biographical film, titled Ilaiyaraaja , which is helmed by Arun Matheswaran and screenplay penned by Kamal Haasan.
