Multi-faceted actor Dhanush proved his directorial skills with his debut attempt Power Paandi in 2017. The film, starring Raj Kiran and Revathi in lead roles, was a successful movie which impressed critics and the audience. Dhanush's own production house Wunderbar Films had bankrolled the family drama.

There was news of the Thiruchitrambalam star doing his sophomore project with Nagarjuna and others. However, it didn't materialize after several rounds of discussion with the Tollywood star and other cast. It looks like the actor is now getting ready for his second movie with another set of cast.

We hear that SJ Suryah and Vishnu Vishal are two actors who are likely to be roped into the movie which will be produced by Sun Pictures. The genre and other details of the project are expected to be revealed soon. Suryah has been part of a few multi-starrers of late, including Jigarthanda Double X while Vishnu will be seen in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lalsalam next.

Dhanush's next release is Vaathi (Sir in Telugu) which will hit the screens on February 17. The movie helmed by Venky Atluri was initially supposed to be released in December.

Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller is the project he is currently shooting for. The ambitious action flick set in the 1930s has Priyanka Mohan essaying the female lead in it. Dhanush has had four releases in 2022, including two direct-to-OTT outings. While the first theatrical release Thiruchitrambalam went on to become his highest grosser, the second movie Naane Varuvean, ended up as a flop.

There are unconfirmed reports of Dhanush being part of Vignesh Shivan, Ajith's AK 62, but it looks like it is too early to talk about it.
