Tamil movie buffs will be in for a huge treat next Friday as two big ticket flicks are ready to take on each other at the box office. Selvaraghavan's Dhanush-starrer Naane Varuvean and Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer flick Ponniyin Selvan will hit the screens on September 29 and 30 respectively.

The makers of Naane Varuvean have now announced that the psychological thriller has been censored with a U/A certificate. Elli AvrRam, Indhuja, Prabhu and Yogi Babu among others essay key roles in the movie which marks the reunion of Dhanush and Selva after 11 years.

According to trusted sources, the film will have a run time of 2 hours and 2 minutes. The news has been doing the rounds on social media, and movie buffs have mixed response on this. The duration of 122 minutes is a far cry from most of the big Tamil films that have been released in recent times.

Movies like Ajith's Valimai and Vikram's Cobra had to chop off a few sequences owing to many complaining about its run time. So, it comes as a relief that team Naane Varuvean has worked on its duration prior to its release. However, there are those who feel that 122 minutes is a tad shorter run time.

Fans of both Dhanush and Selva, who are awaiting the movie, would love to experience their collaboration for at least 2 hours 30 minutes. Nevertheless, they are hopeful that it will be worth the wait. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is considered as another reason to wait for the project.

Kalaippuli S Thanu has bankrolled the film which has action choreography helmed by Stunt Silva. Naane Varuvean is also the first movie to feature Dhanush in dual roles.
