Dheekshith Shetty's Bank of Bhagyalakshmi postponed; gets new release date

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi, the comedy heist film with Dheekshith Shetty in the lead, has moved out of the November 21 race. Director Abhishek M’s film had to be postponed, following a delay in completion of censor certification formalities. November 20 is when the film is likely to be censored, which would be too late for them to then begin its upload, said a team member, adding that they have decided to move ahead by a week only.

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi will now join an already crowded November 28 list of Kannada releases, which includes the likes of Ghosts In Trouble (GST), Maarnami, Flirt, After Operation London Café, Nayi Idae Yecharikae, Paatashaala, among others.

Bank of Bhagyalakshmi is Abhishek’s debut vehicle and sees The Girlfriend star Dheekshith joined by the likes of Brinda Acharya, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Sadhu Kokila, Sruthi Hariharan, among others. Music is by Judah Sandhy, while Abhishek S Kasaragod is responsible for the visuals. The film follows a bunch of amateur thieves hitting a local cooperative bank to loot, only to realize that this big risk was a mistake, what with only Rs 66,999 in the vault.

An operation that was meant to be their last robbery with a handsome haul, soon turns problematic for the petty thieves. Why did they choose to rob the Bhagyalakshmi Cooperative Society? What becomes of this motley crew after this heist attempt? This and more will be revealed when the film hits theatres on November 28.

For leading lady Brinda, this means that she now does not have to deal with having two releases on the same day. Her film with director S Narayan, Maarutha, is slated for November 21. Dheekshith, meanwhile, is fresh off the success of his recent Telugu film, The Girlfriend, in which he was paired with Rashmika Mandanna. The actor is currently working on his next in Kannada, Bail, directed by Pavan Wadeyar, in which he is collaborating with Shivarajkumar and plays a cop for the first time.
