Naga Chaitanya, who is quite famous in the South for rom-coms, and family dramas like – Shailaja Reddy Alludu, Venky Mama, Majili, Love Story, Bangarraju, Custody, is all set to make his OTT debut with Dhootha on Prime Video. Chaitanya made his Hindi debut with Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. Unfortunately, he couldn't make a mark in Bollywood with the film.

Dhootha synopsis

Dhootha tells a story about an investigative journalist, Sagar, whose life turns dreadful as he unravels dark secrets behind newspapers predicting tragedies. He becomes a murder suspect, racing against time to clear his name and solve the mystery while facing dangerous threats.

What does the Dhootha trailer show?

The web series has been making quite headlines ever since Prime Video dropped the trailer. Chaitanya’s character looks promising. The trailer has received an overwhelming response, and garnered more than 6 million views within three days on YouTube. Engrossing the audience with an air of mystery, the trailer unveils the life of journalist Sagar, highlighting the tribulations faced by journalists in turbulent times, often becoming suspects despite their role as truth-bearers. Sagar's life takes an inexplicable turn when a cartoon strip from an old newspaper foretells his future, driving him into a chain of events that brand him a suspect in a murder case.

Dhootha's red carpet premiere at IFFI

The whole cast and crew of Dhootha made its debut at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on November 26, where we got a few glimpses of Naga Chaitanya, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and director Vikram K Kumar. While giving interviews on the red carpet, Chaitanya seemed quite excited for his OTT debut, as well as Dhootha’s premiere at IFFI.
