Dhruv Vikram is one of the rising and promising young talents of the Tamil film industry. With the filming of Mahaan nearing its completion, an ETimes report suggests that the actor will be joining hands with director Vignesh Shivan for their next film.
Vignesh Shivan is currently occupied with the release of the Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha starrer Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal. The much anticipated rom-com is expected to release on Christmas. Speculation on its direct-to-OTT release versus its theatrical release is currently rife.
Post its release, the director is expected to kickstart his work on the next project with Dhruv Vikram. Meanwhile, the actor was earlier scheduled to work on his next with director Mari Selvaraj. Citing the director’s commitment to his other movie with Udhayanidhi Stalin, filming for Dhruv’s film will likely take off in the middle of 2022.
Mahaan marks the second movie of Dhruv Vikram, which is a Karthik Subbaraj directorial. The actor will be starring alongside his father and actor, Chiyaan Vikram. Billed as a gangster action-thriller, it also stars Vani Bhojan, Bobby Simha and Simran among others in pivotal roles. Also referred to as Chiyaan 60, it features the musical composition of Santhosh Narayanan. Backed by Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio, its release date is expected to be announced officially. The movie also marks the return of Vikram to a gangster film-genre after Gemini and Bheemaa.
Dhruv Vikram made his debut in the Tamil film industry with the remake of the Vijay Devarakonda starrer Arjun Reddy, titled Adithya Verma.
