Dhruva Natchathiram is one of the long-pending Tamil films, which is yet to see the daylight. Directed by filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon and starring actor Vikram in the lead role, the film has been facing several delays and postponements. As per the recent media reports, Dhruva Natchathiram’s tentative release date is fixed to be May 1. However, with no official confirmation so far, the news has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Gautham Vasudev Menon, who recently made his directorial debut in Malayalam with Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, has always been asked one question for a few years now; when is Dhruva Natchathiram releasing? The Vikram-starrer spy action drama has been in the can for some years now, awaiting release. As per the new chatter on social media, Dhruva Natchathiram is speculated to release on May 1. But, no parties concerned to the film have posted anything about the release date.
Earlier speaking with OTTplay, Gautham said that he has sorted out all the financial issues and taken over Dhruva Natchathiram completely. “The idea of me acting in films was to put back money into this movie, to complete it first. We managed to do that, and the film is now censored,” Gautham told us.

With the success of Madha Gaja Raja, a film which saw daylight after 12 years and found success recently, has inspired Gautham that Dhruva Natchathiram will also resonate with the audience at time of release.
Starring actors Ritu Varma, R Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, Simran and Vinayakan among others, Dhruva Natchathiram was initially pitched to Suriya in 2013, who later left the project. The film was revived in 2015 with Vikram and was in production until 2017. Plagued by financial issues and COVID pandemic, Dhruva Natchathiram was caught in financial troubles since then.
