Dhurandhar first look: Ranveer Singh plays gritty spy in enemy territory, promises gripping ride

After considerable anticipation, the makers of the spy thriller Dhurandhar have released the film's first-look, and it looks like a thrilling ride. In the video, which marks Ranveer Singh's full-fledged lead role return after two years, the actor is shown in an action-packed avatar that is muscular, gruff, and completely absorbed in the part.

Ranveer Singh's rugged transformation

With his new gritty look—long hair, a thick beard, and serious eyes—the two-minute and forty-second video shows Singh as a guy engrossed in a perilous world. In the midst of mayhem and carnage, he pulls off intense action sequences.

"Yeh aadmi Pakistan mein rehta hai… ek jasoos ki tarah nahi, ek Pakistani ki tarah jeeta hai… Har roz khatra uthata hai, har roz ek nayi maut se ladta hai," says R. Madhavan, who plays the role of real-life spymaster Ajit Doval. As Singh's unidentified character embarks on a daring undercover mission in enemy territory, his narration establishes the mood for the clandestine actions that transpire on screen.

Power ensemble cast teases conflict

Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal all make brief but menacing appearances as Singh's spy faces off against them. The first look features a throbbing background score and a high-octane track as the actor's figure relentlessly slashes and fights enemies.

Sara Arjun, who plays the film's female lead, hints at a romance undercurrent during scenes shared with the audience, in addition to the action.

The ensemble cast of Dhurandhar includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Producer, director, and writer Aditya Dhar is no stranger to the film industry; he was the man behind URI: The Surgical Strike. Along with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the project is supported by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.

The highly anticipated thriller Dhurandhar is set to make its theatrical debut on December 5, 2025.
