Actor-director Dhyan Sreenivasan is known for being candid in his interviews - be it about his films or drug addiction in the past. Recently, while promoting his latest movie, Nadhikalil Sundari Yamuna, Dhyan hinted at Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph’s next movie, starring Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.

During the interview with One India Malayalam, Dhyan was speaking about the opportunities that technicians get in other industries if they do notable work in Malayalam cinema. He also hinted that Basil’s next project will feature Ranveer. “Basil’s next film is with Ranveer. He has recently posted some photos that suggest that he is doing a film with the actor,” said Dhyan. Actor Aju Varghese also supported Dhyan’s statement by pointing out that other directors like Rohit VS (known for Iratta) and Vipin Das (known for Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey) are also getting opportunities in Bollywood. “Red Chillies Entertainment is bankrolling Rohit VS’ next film, Vipin is also setting foot in Bollywood,” Aju said.

Ranveer Singh’s comment on Basil Joseph’s new photo

Basil had previously shared a photo on Instagram, posing with cinematographer Ravi Varman. Ranveer commented on the post expressing his love for both of them, and calling them a ‘super jodi’. This comment sparked excitement among fans, confirming that Basil will direct Shaktimaan, with Ranveer playing the lead.

Turning TV series Shaktimaan in to a film

Last year, Sony Pictures announced plans to turn the 90s television series Shaktimaan into a film trilogy, for which they have already acquired the adaptation rights. However, details about the film have not been revealed yet. Recent rumours suggest that Basil and Ranveer may be involved in the project, but Sony Pictures has not yet confirmed these speculations.
