Did Samantha just bag a film with Jr NTR?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu will reportedly be seen as the female lead in Koratala Siva's next directorial venture. The upcoming film would feature the actress sharing the screen with Jr. NTR.

According to a report in Prokerala, the upcoming film is touted to be a big budget entertainer and Jr NTR had already been offered the role of the film’s lead. The project would mark the most recent collaboration between the director and Jr NTR. The duo had previously worked on 2016’s Janatha Garage, which had also featured Samantha.

The makers of the upcoming film were yet to officially make Samantha the offer, which is said to be completed. The film’s script had already been written.

The yet-to-be titled film is scheduled to go on floors sometime next month, post the release of Jr NTR’s film RRR, which will hit theatres on January 7, 2022. The launch of the upcoming movie will be marked by an official ‘pooja’ which will reportedly take place in Hyderabad on a date after Sankranti.

Meanwhile, Samantha had recently wrapped up the first schedule of her upcoming film, Yashoda, which also stars Sampath Raj. The upcoming bilingual film is the directorial debut of duo Hari-Harish. The actress had also recently been seen in a cameo role in Allu Arjun’s latest Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise. The former had appeared in a dance number for the song Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava.

Jr NTR, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of the SS Rajamouli directed period drama, RRR. The film also stars Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

Jr NTR wrapped up filming for the reality quiz show Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu recently. The show is the Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, adapted from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
