The Zoya Akhtar directed Gully Boy’, not just gave Bollywood its sleeper hit, but also was selected as India's official entry in the ‘International Feature Film’ category at the 92nd Academy Awards. Even though the film did not make it to the final cut of the top 10 films which were being considered for the Oscar nominations, the film simply escalated the careers of almost everyone associated with the film. Be it Ranveer Singh or Alia Bhatt or Vijay Varma or Siddhant Chaturvedi, everybody has earned their place under the sun. Speaking of Siddhant Chaturvedi, there is one interesting trivia about the young man who played the iconic role of ‘MC Sher’ in ‘Gully Boy’.

Did you know that this very own ‘Gehraiyaan’ actor Siddhant Chaturvedi was THE original choice to play the epic role of the antagonist Jim in the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer monster hit film ‘Pathaan’. Yes... you heard it right!

This interesting piece of trivia was reported by a source to Bollywood Hungama in an article. The article stated that Siddhant Chaturvedi was actually the first choice to play the role of the antagonist Jim in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’. The blockbuster was produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. The article stated that Aditya Chopra felt that Siddhant Chaturvedi was a fine actor and could be an apt choice for the villain’s role in ‘Pathaan’ and that, he was also physically well-built and would look totally convincing in the face-off scenes with Shah Rukh Khan.

The same article stated that, ‘Even though Siddhant Chaturvedi was floored by Aditya Chopra’s offer, he, however, declined the film. The reason stated was that it was after much thought and deliberation he declined the offer, because Siddhant Chaturvedi wanted to do hero-based roles. Eventually, the role was offered to John Abraham, who accepted the role. And, the rest, as they say is … ‘his-story’... we mean, ‘history’.

On the professional front, Siddhant Chaturvedi will now be seen in ‘Yudhra’. Besides him, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal. Besides ‘Yudhra’, Siddhant Chaturvedi also has the breezy ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, which will see Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav as his co-stars.
