Young Malayalam actor Pranav Mohanlal’s new film, Dies Irae, is exactly two weeks away from its Halloween release. The Rahul Sadasivan directorial has already piqued the interest of Malayalam cinephiles with the chilling teaser and trailer. Now adding to the anticipation for the movie, the makers have dropped a promo track, ‘party mode’, which evokes electrifying yet haunting vibes. The upcoming Malayalam film Dies Irae is slated to release in theatres on October 31, 2025. Pranav Mohanlal leads this horror thriller, helmed by Rahul Sadasivan, who has a penchant for narrating haunting tales. The makers released a promo track on October 17. The party mode track has an eerie opening, followed by footsteps and a voiceover that warns about the impending Day of Wrath. Despite its spooky tone, the track does have an electrifying party vibe. There were no visuals for the track, which promises that another chilling tale is on the cards from Rahul Sadasivan.

Dies Irae censored ‘A’

Meanwhile, the censor details of Dies Irae were out on Thursday. The makers revealed that Pranav Mohanlal’s upcoming film has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board. This means that only adults above the age of 18 can see the film in theatres when it releases for Halloween.

What is Dies Irae about

The trailer released earlier this month revealed that Pranav Mohanlal plays a youth who is experiencing paranormal activities. An unseen force is seen troubling him as we are told about a cursed family and a closed well.

Jibin Gopinath and Manohari Joy play other key roles in the film. Director Rahul has also penned the film, which marks his third horror film after Mammootty-led Bramayugam and Bhoothakaalam, starring Shane Nigam and Revathy.

Pranav was last seen in a cameo role in Empuraan, which starred his father Mohanlal. The young actor's last outing in a full-fledged role was the 2024 hit film Varshangalkku Shesham, helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan.
