Pranav Mohanlal is back in action and this time in the chilling horror thriller world of Dies Irae, created by Rahul Sadasivan. The teaser of Dies Irae has been unveiled by the makers, giving a scary glimpse into the otherworldly happenings.

The Diés Iraé teaser begins with Pranav Mohanlal seated alone in what looks like the waiting room of a hospital. Even as we see his blood-soaked hands, Pranav talks about the lingering spirits in a chilling voiceover. He tells viewers that those who die with deep hatred or unfulfilled desires do not leave the world of mortals after death, with their spirits lingering in the space they used to inhabit. Even as Pranav's monologue continues, we see the youngster getting attacked by an unknown entity. 

We also see Manohari Joy, who is best known for her role of Ammachi in Basil Joseph's hit film Sookshmadarshini. There are also scenes featuring a youngster conducting the last rites, as per the Hindu customs. A body is also being pulled out of a well. Pranav further says that to know more about why these spirits do not leave and haunt the living, we need to start from where everything began. As the 1-minute-44-second teaser winds up, we see the well getting covered. The final scene shows Pranav looking petrified as he stares at some unknown horror.

The well seems to be an integral part of the mystery and the film, and the way it is picturised does remind viewers about another popular horror thriller, The Ring. Overall, Pranav Mohanlal promises a haunting tale of lingering spirits will unfold on the big screens this Halloween on October 31, 2025.

Dies Irae marks the third consecutive horror thriller film helmed by the young filmmaker Rahul Sadasivan. His last directorial was Bramayugam, starring Mammootty in the lead role of an ageing patriarch. The film was lauded for brilliantly blending folklore elements with the horror thriller genre. Before Bramayugam, he crafted Bhoothakaalam with Shane Nigam and Revathy, which also won much appreciation. On the other hand, Pranav Mohanlal ventures into the horror genre with Dies Irae.
