Dil Raju reveals Thalapathy Vijay's mood after Varisu's success, terms the family drama Pongal winner

The release of Samantha-starrer Shaakuntalam is hardly 10 days away. Producer Dil Raju, who has acquired the film's distribution rights, has aggressively kicked off promotions a few days ago. As part of the promotional activity, he indulged in a Twitter chat with movie buffs.

Several cinephiles from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana participated in the interaction and many questions were asked to the veteran producer. From expectations on Shaakuntalam to updates on Ram Charan's Game Changer to re-release of Allu Arjun's Arya, film enthusiasts left no stone unturned to gather information on various topics. 

One of them was curious to know what Vijay felt after the success of Varisu which marked the debut of Raju in Kollywood. The box office clash between the film and Ajith's Thunivu was much-awaited by movie buffs this year. 

After several speculation and change in plans, both the projects released on the same day in January and social media was abuzz with fans of both the stars battling it out with regard to box office numbers from day one. After its theatrical run, Varisu started streaming on Amazon Prime Video in February. The makers had officially announced that the family drama grossed 300 crores.

To the question of Vijay's reaction to its success, Raju replied that the former is happy about the result and termed the movie a 'Pongal winner'. It looks like this is going to trigger fan wars from where it all began a few months ago.

Fans of both the stars continued arguing on which film among the two was the actual winner during the clash. Makers of Thunivu didn't reveal the collection, which fueled speculation on its BO numbers.
