Malayalam film, O.Baby, has finally made it to the digital space after a long wait. The movie is now available to stream on Amazon Prime. In this film, notable performances were given by Dileesh Pothan, Raghunath Paleri, Haniya Nafisa, Devadath V S, and Vishnu Agasthya. Dileesh announced the movie's release on the popular OTT platform via social media. “Experience the cinematic brilliance!,” he captioned the Instagram post.
Rajan Pramod's O Baby, which debuted in theatres in June of last year, won praise from audiences for its depiction of social injustice and the cast members' riveting performances. Nevertheless, no OTT platform had the movie available. The film came under a long list of Malayalam films in 2023 that did not make their way to the digital space. The drama-thriller was directed by scriptwriter-director Ranjan Pramod, almost six years after his film, Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, starring Biju Menon.
Plot of O.Baby
Papi, an estate owner, employs Baby as his estate supervisor. When Papi's great-granddaughter Mini and Baby's son Basil start getting along, Papi asks Baby to kill his son because of their caste differences. The plot revolves around Baby and Papi's family members' extreme measures, some taken to safeguard their son's safety and others to uphold their family's honour.

Positive response for O.Baby after theatrical release
O.Baby does not fully rely on the viewer to identify the various oppressive layers. Through dialogue and scenes, the makers demonstrate the dangers of oppression that propagate through the generations and continue to shackle the enslaved.
The casting of O. Baby is another major factor in the film's success. In what may be considered his best performance to date, Dileesh Pothan showcases his acting prowess as an individual who must deal with a range of emotions. The remaining ones have also given strong performances. O.Baby is an incredibly captivating drama-thriller that helps to somewhat bridge the generation gap while posing important questions regarding injustice and oppression in society.
