The filmmaker hinted that a Kerala Crime Files 3 might be made, but for now, he is concentrating on a theatrical release because, with the exception of June, every one of his other directorials had a direct OTT release. "I have always wanted to be a filmmaker because I enjoy watching films on screen. I was determined to play all six episodes of Kerala Crime Files 2 during the preview show because I get this feeling of satisfaction when I see people's response in theatres," he remarked.

Ahammed went on to say that he is now working on his next film, which would mark the Malayalam debut of Tamil actor Arjun Das. The second season of Kerala Crime Files was funded by the filmmaker's own production company, Monkey Business. "I don't intend to use Monkey Business to only produce my directorials. If they're worth it, I have also invited my associates and others to bring in scripts," he added.

Feel-good films or thrillers?

The director stated that he prefers thrillers to romantic comedies or feel-good movies. "Making a light-hearted movie is hard, in my opinion, because if you miss a metre, the viewers would be disappointed," he remarked. Ahammed stressed how thrilled he was to work on both seasons of Kerala Crime Files. He continued by saying that, in contrast to the first season, the sequel had multiple layers that required a new approach. "I was mainly excited by the script, and I'm glad it worked well for the audience as well," the filmmaker said.
