Director-producer Kathiresan denies Raghava Lawrence-starrer Rudhran going the OTT way

A slew of films in different languages are expected to hit the screens in April this year. KGF 2 in Kannada, Laal Singh Chaddha in Hindi, Beast in Tamil and Acharya in Telugu are some of the big ticket flicks that are likely to clash at the box office. However, one of the first movies that announced its release date in April 2022 was Lawrence's Rudhran.

Though Rudhran isn't as big as the above mentioned projects, Lawrence is someone who enjoys a good fan base among children and family audience. His last outing Kanchana 3, which released almost three years ago, was a hit despite critics giving below average reviews.

There has been news doing the rounds that the movie will have a direct OTT release as its makers are negotiating talks with a leading digital platform. However, producer Kathiresan, who is making his directorial debut with the movie, took to his social media page to quash it as a rumour.

He said that he is unaware of the negotiations happening and that the news pertaining to the movie's OTT release is untrue. However, with many movies releasing in April, it has to be seen if the team will stick on the earlier announced date. 

RD Rajasekar cranks the camera for the film which is being produced under the banner Five Star Creations. Anthony handles the editing of Rudhran which has Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the female lead in it. GV Prakash is composing music for the project which is billed as an action entertainer. Stunt Silva has composed action scenes for the film.

Adhigaaram, written by Vetri Maaran and helmed by Durai Senthil Kumar, stunt choreographer Anbarivu's directorial debut Durga and Chandramukhi 2 are some of the upcoming movies Lawrence currently has in kitty.
