Looks like more Tamil filmmakers are ready to join the OTT bandwagon despite audience coming back to theatres. Acclaimed director Ram is the latest to join the list. He has completed the works of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, starring Nivin Pauly in the lead and a promo video was unveiled yesterday.
The movie's release date is yet to be announced, but the Kattradhu Thamizh filmmaker has signed his next and an official announcement has also been made. He is doing an untitled project for Disney+ Hotstar, which will be bankrolled by Seven Seas and Seven Hills.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music for the film which has Shiva and Mollywood actress Grace Antony playing lead roles. This is the first time Shiva is joining hands with the director and cinephiles are excited with the unusual combination. Grace is making her Tamil debut with the project which has cinematography by Ekambaram.
The project marks her second association with Disney+ Hotstar. She was seen in the Malayalam film Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham which had a direct release on the digital platform in 2021.
Shiva, who was last seen in Idiot, has Kasethan Kadavulada coming up next. He has Sumo, Golmaal, Saloon and Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum in his kitty; most of the projects are likely to be released in theatres in 2023.
The yet-to-be-titled project is Ram's sixth movie in his career spanning 15 years. His last outing as a filmmaker was Mammootty-starrer Peranbu while his previous film as an actor was Mysskin's Psycho.
