The upcoming Malayalam web series, Kammattam, directed by Shan Thulasidharan, will be available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. The young filmmaker discussed the plot of the web series and new developments regarding the theatrical release of his debut movie, Anuradha Crime No.59/2019, in an interview with OTTplay.
As previously disclosed, Shan stated that the investigation thriller web series is based on a recent actual incident that happened in Kerala's Thrissur district. With Kottayam as the setting, it has been placed as a subplot within the main plot. "This thriller just includes a portion of the actual incident. When a police officer looks into an apparent accident and suspects foul play, he starts looking for the truth and answers to his enquiries," he added.
The filmmaker claimed that they were taking a great risk by shooting in about 40 to 45 locations in 11 days. According to Shan, the actors and crew were all prepared for this task, and their united efforts allowed the production to be finished on time. He claimed that using diligent work and thorough planning, they finished the shoot in the allotted time. The majority of the web series was shot in Kottayam, mainly in Bharananganam. Sudev Nair, Jeo Baby, Ajay Vaasudev, Arun Sol, Sreerekha, Akhil Kavalayoor, and Jordy Poonjaa play important roles in the six-episode online series.

Anuradha Crime No.59/2019, Shan's debut film, has not yet been released. He stated that the thriller, which features important roles from Indrajith Sukumaran, Anu Sithara, Harisree Ashokan, and Santhosh Keezhattoor, will be released in theatres soon this year. "Its themes are still relevant even though it is based on a true event that occurred in 2018. Unavoidable circumstances caused the film's release to be delayed," the director stated. Dear Vappi, his second film, is accessible on Manorama Max. Shan is also in talks for a women-focused movie and two more Malayalam web series.
