DNA is an upcoming Tamil film starring actors Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles. Marking their first collaboration together onscreen, the film is one of the titles lined up for releases this week. DNA release date

DNA is set to release in theatres on June 20. Majorly a Tamil film, DNA will share the box office with Dhanush’s multi-lingual film Kuberaa. Besides, there is also the Tamil film Chennai City Gangsters which will also release on June 20.

DNA trailer

The trailer of DNA was released by the makers recently on social media. What is touted to be an intense drama, focusses on the lives of a newly married couple played by Atharvaa and Nimisha. The trailer seems to show that the film will have some commercial elements, while it also delves into the lives of the couple. We are hinted that something is abnormal with Nimisha, and this only adds up after the couple have a baby. The birth of their child only adds to the intensity of the film, as the trailer cleverly does not reveal what exactly is the conflict in the couple’s lives.

DNA plot

While the makers have not released the official plotline of the film, as per the director, the one liner of DNA is 'Two strands wind around each other to make a twister ladder' which subtly describes the biological term DNA, which also hints at two individuals' fates wound up together.

With Nimisha Sajayan and Atharvaa headlining the film, DNA also features some known faces including Balaji Sakthivel, Ramesh Thilak, Viji Chandrasekar, Chetan, Riythvika KP, Subramanian Siva, Karunakaran, and Pasanga Sivakumar. The film is expected to surround around a family.

Written and directed by Nelson Venkatesan, the film is produced by Jayanthi Ambedkar. The background score is by Ghibran Vaibodha, while Sreekanth Hariharan, Sathya Prakash, Anal Akash, Praveen Saivi, and Sahi Siva have worked as composers. Parthiban D.F.T has shot the film and Sabu Joseph VJ is the editor.

DNA OTT partner

The post-theatrical streaming rights of DNA have been bagged by JioHotstar. The streaming platform will release the film after DNA completes theatrical run. One can expect the film to have an OTT premiere sometime in July or August.
