The first teaser for the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been released by Marvel Studios. The clip, which was shown as an end credit scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home, is now available to fans of the MCU.
The teaser has everything it needs to keep fans waiting and excited ahead of the release of Doctor Strange 2.
The teaser starts off with Strange understanding the consequences that awaits him and the universe for tampering with the multiverse. He then reunites with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, who tags along with him as the multiverse comes crashing in on the sorcerer. It is also shown that Strange knows about what Wanda has been doing in recent times, and has been keeping an eye on her just like us.
The most interesting part about the teaser is its reveal of Strange Supreme, an evil version of the much-loved Doctor Strange. The evil version was first introduced to the MCU fans in Marvel’s What If..?, as a version of the sorcerer who takes a dark path, trying to avoid a loved one's tragic future.
While the Strange Supreme in What If..? was concluded as a heroic figure who makes a sacrifice to protect the multiverse, the Strange Supreme in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could be a much different figure.
The movie is helmed by Sam Raimi, who’s last run in with a superhero movie was Spider-Man 3 in 2007. Elizabeth Olsen was quoted saying that the director is making the scariest Marvel movie, and the teaser helps understand the actor’s words.
