Just days after the release of his new film, Runway 34, Ajay Devgn is rolling up his sleeves to get to work yet again. The star will reportedly resume filming the latest schedule of Drishyam 2 soon.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the actor will head to Goa this week to resume shooting for the upcoming thriller. A considerable portion of the film will reportedly be shot in Goa and the star is expected to stay there for at least a month. The source also told the portal that after the shoot in Goa gets completed, a small portion of the film will be shot in Mumbai.

Drishyam 2 will take place seven years after the events of the first film.

In addition to Devgn, the film also features Shriya Saran, Tabu, Ishita Dutta and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles. While the others will be reprising their roles from the first film, Khanna will play a new character. The film marks Khanna and Devgn’s first major on-screen collaboration in almost 12 years, after the 2002 film, Deewangee.

The upcoming film, which went on floors this February, is a sequel to the 2015 film, directed by Nishikant Kamat. The film is also the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film of the same name of 2021, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal. The film was also remade in Telugu as Drushyam 2, starring Venkatesh.

Meanwhile, Devgn was recently seen in Runway 34, which also marked his third directorial venture after U Me Aur Hum (2008) and Shivaay (2016). The film, which also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles, was released in theatres on April 29 and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run. Devgn’s upcoming releases include Maidaan and Thank God.
