Drishyam 2 makers announce 50 percent off on tickets on release day, with conditions applied. Details inside

Malayalam film Drishyam was one film in the last decade which was remade into several languages. All its remake versions went on to become hits. However, its sequel skipped theatrical release and was dropped directly on Amazon Prime Video last year.

Despite the movie opening to humongous response from movie lovers after its OTT premiere, it was remade in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. The Telugu version, Drushyam 2, also skipped theatrical release, while the Kannada version, Drishya 2, hit the screens and earned positive reviews. Now, the Hindi version of the sequel, Drishyam 2, is set for a theatrical release.  

The makers unveiled a promo video recently which has escalated expectations of the audience. The movie, starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya and Tabu in lead roles, will release in theatres on November 18. The team has now come up with a unique offer for film lovers to attract them to movie halls.

They have announced a discount of 50 percent on tickets on its release day, provided the bookings are made today, on October 2. The date has a significance to the film's story as it's on this day that Vijay Salgaonkar, its protagonist, went on a trip to Panjim along with his family.

The offer is only for selected theatres. Makers hope that this move would evoke interest in many film buffs irrespective of whether they have watched other versions or not. Abhishek Pathak has helmed Drishyam 2 while Nishikant Kamat was the director of the first part of the Hindi movie.

Ajay Devgn, who received the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Tanhaji, has Maidaan and Bholaa coming up next in 2023. Drishyam 2 will be the actor's fifth movie in 2022.
