Ethan Coen co-wrote the screenplay with his wife, Tricia Cooke, and pitched the idea in 2007, more than a decade before it came to fruition. It is interesting to note that Margaret said in a recent conversation with Jimmy Fallon that she gave multiple auditions for Drive-Away Dolls before finally landing the lead role of Jamie.

The movie also marks Ethan Coen’s solo directorial venture, excluding his documentary project. The star-studded cast also features Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Bill Camp, and Matt Damon in prominent roles.
