During the Hyderabad event, a journalist asked Pradeep, “Despite not having typical hero looks, how did you make it to the top, was it luck or hard work?” This question did not go well with many, and on behalf of Pradeep, Sarath Kumar responded and slammed the reporter.
The same question was later asked to another upcoming Telugu hero, Kiran Abbavaram, who slammed the reported and supported Pradeep stating that when stars from other languages come to promote their films in Hyderabad, they should not be degraded by such questions.
This controversy has given Dude free publicity ahead of their release. In a recent interview, Pradeep finally responded, saying he did not take the question to heart as he had been insulted many times since childhood.
“This is not the first time it has happened. I’m used to this kind of bullying; it even happened on stage during my first film’s promotions. I’m like a shirt full of stains, even if you add more, it won’t affect me. Such comments don’t disturb me; I only answer everyone through my work,” said Pradeep.
His calm and mature response has now gone viral and won many hearts. Ever since his debut film Love Today and later Dragon, the youth in Telugu states have deeply connected with him, making him a sensation of sorts.
