Dulquer Salmaan's I’m Game is 'RDX-like high-octane action-packed film': Jakes Bejoy drops some major hints

Dulquer Salmaan joining forces with RDX director Nahas Hidhayath for his 40th film had excited the DQ fans, who are eagerly waiting for their favourite star to make a blockbuster return to Malayalam cinema. The upcoming Malayalam film’s title was revealed to be I'm Game in March 2025, but not many updates have since come our way. Now, the film’s composer Jakes Bejoy has assured fans that I’m Game will be an ‘RDX-like high-octane action-packed film’ which will give Dulquer a lot of space to explore.

Dulquer's I’m Game is 'RDX-like film'

Dulquer Salmaan had unveiled the title poster of I’m Game last month, confirming his return to Malayalam cinema after the 2023 King of Kotha. Notably, this is the second film of Nahas Hidhayath, who had marked his debut with the actioner RDX: Robert Dony Xavier, which starred Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese and Neeraj Madhav. 

During a recent interview with The Cue Studio, Jakes Bejoy, who has been roped in to score the music, has confirmed that I’m Game will also be an action-packed film.

“It will be an RDX-like high-octane action-packed film of Nahas. It will also have a lot of space for Dulquer to explore as an actor, a mass hero,” explained Jakes, who had also collaborated on King of Kotha.

For the unversed, RDX was released in 2023 and was especially noted for its high-octane action sequences. The film, a box office success, also featured the popular 'Neela Nilave' song.

Further giving us tidbits of information about I’m Game, Jakes said that the film features a gambling world and also has cricketing moments. All in all, it will be a big-canvas entertaining movie, he has confirmed.

But Jakes said that it is for the director to confirm when the audiences will be able to enjoy the film on the big screen.

I’m Game, produced by Wayfarer Films, will be released in  Hindi, and other south Indian languages.

Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in Lucky Baskhar, a Telugu film, which emerged as a hit at the box office. The Venky Atluri film narrates the tale of a bank employee Baskhar, who resorts to fraudulent means to make money after he is passed over for promotion.

On the other hand, DQ’s last release in Malayalam was King of Kotha in 2023, that failed to impress. Therefore, fans are pinning hope that I’m Game will change the actor’s fortunes in the Malayalam industry.

His other upcoming films, include Kaantha in Tamil and Telugu movie Aakasam Lo Oka Tara and a Malayalam film with Soubin Shahir.
