Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur's Sita Ramam continues its dream run at the box office, earns ₹65 crore

Sita Ramam is one among the three Telugu films which managed to attract movie buffs this month. The romantic tale, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is going great guns at the box office. The makers have now officially announced that the film, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, has grossed 65 crore from across the world.

The movie, which was released along with another hit film Bimbisara, has managed to draw the audience to theatres in the US, too. It has collected over 1.15M dollars there. Despite Karthikeya 2 which released the subsequent week impressing moviegoers, Sita Ramam is still minting money at the box office.

Makers hope that the film will earn good numbers today and tomorrow, too, thanks to the weekend. The movie marks Dulquer's second outing in Telugu after Mahanati and Mrunal's debut in Tollywood. Though it appears to be ambitious, movie buffs are eagerly looking forward to know if Sita Ramam would be able to join the coveted 100 crore club.      

The chemistry between Dulquer and Mrunal, Vishal Chandrasekhar's songs and background score, engaging screenplay by Hanu and PS Vinod's stunning visuals have been garnering positive response from critics and movie lovers.

The movie has been declared a success in Tamil and Malayalam, too. Its Tamil version outperformed four Kollywood movies which were released along with Sita Ramam in Tamil Nadu, whereas Dulquer's fan base has helped its Malayalam version in Kerala. 

It was revealed recently that Nani and Vijay Deverakonda were offered the role essayed by Dulquer in the movie. Fans of the two actors opine that they missed a golden opportunity by rejecting the offer. Similarly, Pooja Hegde was approached by its makers initially to play the female lead which has now been essayed convincingly by Mrunal.
