His latest production venture, Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, has been breaking records at the box office, and winning much love from the audience. Dulquer Salmaan recently spoke about the unprecedented success of Lokah, saying that not even any of his films, as an actor, have earned such phenomenal numbers.

The Malayalam actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan backed the woman superhero film, Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, a risky proposition in these times. But risk paid off and he is busy reaping the benefits as Lokah became the second-highest-grossing Malayalam film. In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Dulquer opened up about the record numbers, saying that even as an actor his films have not brought in this much attention or earnings.
When the interviewer Anupama Chopra asked DQ, if this is a producer's dream, Dulquer replied, "Absolutely. This is the seventh film we are producing, and I don't think anything has been like this. Maybe Kurup, during post-Covid time. But nothing like this. This is unprecedented for.. forget as a producer, even as actor, none of my films have blown up like this.”
Kurup is a 2021 Malayalam movie which starred Dulquer in the titular role, and was commercially successful.
On the other hand, Dulquer also makes a cameo appearance in Lokah, which is co-written and helmed by Dominic Arun. Actress Santhy Balachandran was also on board as a co-writer in the film, which also features Naslen in a key role. Dulquer is seen as Charlie, an Odiyan, who will reportedly lead one of the following films in the five-part Lokah franchise. Actor Tovino Thomas also made a cameo as the goofy goblin Michael, a Chathan. Tovino had also made a brief appearance in Dulquer-starrer Kurup.
