Looks like fans of Dulquer Salmaan are overjoyed with back-to-back updates on various projects of his. Following the glimpse from Hanu Raghavapudi's yet-to-be-titled project and a new poster each from Srinath Rajendran's Kurup and Rosshan Andrrews's Salute, the actor surprised his fans with another announcement on his birthday. He will be teaming up again with actor-director Soubin Shahir for Othiram Kadakam. The actor had played an extended cameo in Soubin's directorial debut, Parava, which released in 2017. The duo had also shared screen space in films like Charlie, Kali and Oru Yamandan Premakadha among others.
All excited to join hands with his BFF, Dulquer took to social media to post the first look of the film with the caption, "Totally channeling the birthday vibes in this!! Super excited to announce this brand new film, “Othiram Kadakam”. This will be my second movie with my machan Soubin donning the director’s hat and I am really looking forward to it."
Dulquer is seen sporting a different hairstyle and rugged beard for the film, which is said to be a quirky comedy. We hear that an announcement on the project's cast and crew will be made soon. The movie will be produced by Wayfarer Films, the star's production company.
The actor was last seen in Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal and Varane Avashyamund in Tamil and Malayalam respectively. He has choreographer-turned-filmmaker Brinda Gopal's Hey Sinamika in Tamil ready for release. The film, which has Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari playing female leads, was wrapped up a few months ago. Meanwhile, despite speculation doing the rounds that Kurup may have an OTT release, the makers are yet to come up with an update on the multilingual flick's release. The movie is loosely based on the life of Sukumara Kurup, a notorious criminal and a fugitive.
