Durgo Rowhoshyo: Srijit Mukherji’s Byomkesh team attacked by bees, director, DOP suffer wounds

Srijit Mukherji and his team of Durgo Rowhoshyo have started shooting in Madhya Pradesh. A large team of actors, including Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee, Debraj Bhattacharya, Anusha Viswanathan, and others, is busy shooting the web series. Meanwhile, a swarm of bees invaded the shooting spot and attacked many team members. 

According to reports, the bees stung Srijit, DOP Soumik Halder, and a few more members. Bees stung Srijit on his ears, while Soumik is more wounded by the bees than the director. Others suffered from the sting as well. The catastrophe took place when they went inside the jungle to shoot. As per reposts, the area has a robust wildlife. Srijit reached Madhya Pradesh for shooting by the end of May. He took to his social media to announce the beginning of the shooting. Interestingly, Srijit's Byomkesh is not a part of the regular Byomkesh series in Hoichoi. It is made to be an independent web series of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay's Durgo Rohoshyo.

On the other hand, the other Byomkesh team – led by Dev – is back from Madhya Pradesh. The team is currently shooting in Jharkhand. In a candid video, Dev and his team were seen enjoying a hearty match of cricket during the break from shooting. 

This fall, the Bengali audience will experience a double dose of Byomkesh. The frontrunners of the Bengali entertainment industry have taken a fancy to Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Durgo Rahosyo and as a result, one feature film, directed by Birsa Dasgupta, and one web series, directed by Srijit Mukherji will be released. The former will feature Dev, Rukmini, and Ambarish Bhattacharya will be seen as Byomkesh Bakshi, Satyabati, and Ajit.

The film rights of Durgo Rohoshyo are with Shadow Films. As per sources, Srijit was scheduled to direct the feature film. Later, Dev took over the rights and expressed his wish to play Byomkesh. Srijit left the project and tied up with Hoichoi, who holds the digital rights to the novel. As a result, Birsa is directing the feature film with Dev as Byomkesh. Srijit is making a web series for Hoichoi based on the same novel.
