Ed Sheeran X AR Rahman: Musicians croon together for Take it Easy Urvashi, Shape of You; ARR says, 'Our city needs more…'

AR Rahman recently set the stage on fire, when he graced the Ed Sheeran concert that took place in Chennai, as the singers crooned together for Take It Easy Urvashi and Shape of You. With the amalgamation of the singers, the audience couldn’t but rejoice to hear how their synergy sounded.

AR Rahman and Ed Sheeran collaborate for concert night

AR Rahman, who is known for his musical prowess, recently showed up at Ed Sheeran’s concert in Chennai. Ed Sheeran welcomed AR Rahman onstage much to the fans' surprise. However, what really grabbed the attention of the audience was how the musicians collaborated on stage and sang a mash-up of their respective songs, which is a common trend on social media. Fans and audience who saw the music piece hooted for their performances.

While Ed Sheeran sang Take It Easy Urvashi, AR Rahman joined for Shape of You in what you may call it a quick jam session. The amalgamation of the song is a popular music on social media platforms like Instagram. AR Rahman took to X to write, “Thank you, @edsheeran! Hope to see you perform more in Chennai—our city needs more international concerts and collaborations like yours!”

AR Rahman’s Kadhalikka Neramillai gets OTT release date

AR Rahman last scored for the Tamil film Kadhalikka Neramillai, which was released in theatres last month. Following the theatrical run, the film will soon be available on Netflix. The romantic drama will premiere on February 11.

Written and directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, the film features Nithya Menen, Ravi Mohan, Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, TJ Bhanu and others. The film is shot by cinematographer Gavemic Ary, with Lawrence Kishore in charge of editing. Kadhalikka Neramillai is produced by Red Giant Movies. AR Rahman’s music for the film was much appreciated by audience and critics.
