Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana, directed by Samarth B Kadkol, is Diganth Manchale’s next release, which will be in theatres on June 13. The dark comedy film also stars Dhanu Harsha, Nidhi Subbaiah, Sourav Lokesh, Krishna Hebbale, with Radhika Narayan and Nirup Bhandari in cameos. Ahead of the film’s release, the team revealed the trailer, offering a glimpse into the life of Diganth’s character Lohit Rajesh, a techie, who’s day-to-day fights are all about surviving in a world designed for right-handers. Lohit, you see, is a left-hander, who has grown up to insults about eating and washing his behind with the same hand.
The trailer opens with a voice-over by the protagonist, as he introduces himself and that he’s got 4 murders and one accident case registered against him. When a natural leftie tries to do what doesn’t come naturally to him – use his right hand – accidents are bound to happen, he reckons. And that’s what happens one fateful night to Lohit, when he rings a calling bell and the wrong door opens.
The film has been in the making for a while, what with the initial producer leaving the project only days into production. It’s now ready for release and by the looks of it, appears to be a fun ride after all. During the promotional interviews of the film, Manasaare fame Diganth had candidly remarked that Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana is not an extraordinary movie, but is one with a fresh subject that will genuinely entertain people across age groups.
“In 2-hours run-time, we have tried to include all the elements that will entertain audiences thoroughly. The story, narrative and performances apart, the music, especially the background score, and the camerawork, will be highlights,” said Diganth. Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana is Diganth’s first release since last year’s Laughing Buddha , in which he played a thief, a role that was initially meant for Rishab Shetty.
